Jesus said, “Who touched me?” When no one stepped forward, Peter said, “But Master, we’ve got crowds of people on our hands. Dozens have touched you.”*
I wrote a piece a few years ago, but to the shame of my organizing skills, I did not store it in a place where I can easily find it again. I do remember a line in the piece that goes ‘but have we even touched the seam of your robe?’
The piece was about our faith and how I felt that sometimes even after everything in our Christian journeys there might be a possibility that we are no closer to Him than when we started.
We can be moving in the crowd with Him and never truly know Him. We can even touch Him but never really feel His power. And my heart just breaks at the thought of that.
Jesus insisted, “Someone touched me. I felt power discharging from me.”*
Jesus we need
To first seek You in the crowd
before the constant hustle to
better this life
To listen for Your voice
when the crowd is swearing
when the crowd is cheering
when life is loud
when life is broken
when life is good
To reach for You
in the chaos
in hope
when nothing makes sense
when everything makes sense
To fall to our knees
To reach for Your robe
To risk
To hold
To trust
because
with You there is
Peace
with You there is
Stillness
with You
we are not alone
Your power
heals
Your power
makes us whole
You bless us
and give us the beauty of lives well-lived.
Jesus said, “Daughter, you took a risk trusting me, and now you’re healed and whole. Live well, live blessed!”*
Amen
Always loved this piece of scripture! To touched Him and live well.....
